The Adam A700 was a lightweight twin-turbofan personal jet built almost entirely from carbon composite, sharing its distinctive twin-boom airframe with the piston-engined A500.

Look for the unmistakable twin tail booms joined by a high horizontal stabiliser, with the engines faired against the rear fuselage. The stubby central nacelle and slim tapered wing complete a silhouette unlike any conventional business jet.

History
Adam Aircraft of Colorado adapted its Burt Rutan-influenced A500 push-pull twin into the jet-powered A700, first flying in 2003 with two Williams FJ33 turbofans. It was positioned to compete in the emerging very-light-jet class before development halted when the company entered bankruptcy in 2008.
Variants
Only the A700 jet and its A500 piston sibling reached flight status. Two A700 prototypes were completed, and no production certification was ever achieved.
Where you'll see it
The type never entered commercial or military service in the UK or elsewhere, as the programme collapsed before deliveries began. It survives mainly as a footnote in the early-2000s very-light-jet boom.
