The Beechcraft T-42A Cochise is the US Army designation for the Baron 55 used as a twin-engine instrument-flight trainer. It gave Army aviators multi-engine and instrument currency in a capable, widely available airframe.

History
The US Army ordered the T-42A in the early 1960s to provide instrument and multi-engine training for Army fixed-wing aviators. The aircraft were essentially standard Baron 55s with military avionics and were operated by the Army Aviation Center at Fort Rucker, Alabama.
