The Blohm & Voss Ha 140 was a twin-engine floatplane torpedo bomber designed for the German Navy (Kriegsmarine) and evaluated in 1937 as a replacement for the He 59. It was a mid-wing cantilever monoplane carried on twin floats, designed for maritime patrol and torpedo attack roles.

History

Designed under the Hamburger Flugzeugbau (Ha) designation before the firm was renamed Blohm & Voss, the Ha 140 first flew in 1937 and competed against the Heinkel He 115 for the Kriegsmarine torpedo bomber contract. The He 115 was selected for production and the Ha 140 programme was cancelled.

Variants

Three prototypes (V1, V2, V3) were built with progressively refined engines and airframes; no production aircraft.
