History

As the concluding production variant of the G.46 family, the 4A shared the 4B's engine and basic airframe while featuring a slightly different equipment package tailored to particular operator requirements. The G.46 as a whole marked Fiat's successful re-entry into the military aircraft market following World War II and demonstrated Italian design capability to potential export customers.
