The Fokker T.V was a Dutch twin-engine medium bomber that flew in 1937 and formed the backbone of the Luchtvaartafdeling's bomber force at the outbreak of the Second World War. It was a capable design for its time but numerically insufficient to halt the German invasion.

History

Ordered by the Dutch military in the mid-1930s, the T.V featured Fokker's characteristic thick-section cantilever wing and all-metal construction. During the German invasion of May 1940, the small force of T.V bombers flew missions against German forces before being overwhelmed by attrition.

Variants

The T.V was produced in a single main variant; Fokker also proposed export versions but these did not materialise before the Dutch defeat.

Where you'll see it

The Fokker T.V served exclusively with the Luchtvaartafdeling during the brief Dutch resistance to the German invasion in May 1940; surviving aircraft were destroyed or captured.
