History

Introduced in 2006 as an evolution of the long-running Mooney M20 family, the Acclaim (M20TN) fitted the airframe with a turbonormalized Continental TSIO-550 engine to maintain performance at altitude. The Acclaim Type S followed with further power improvements. The type appeals to owner-pilots who need cross-country speed without the operating costs of a turboprop.

Variants

Acclaim (M20TN, 2006); Acclaim Type S (M20TN-S, higher cruise speed).

Where you'll see it

In service with private owners worldwide; popular for long-distance touring flights in North America and Europe.
