The Cessna 162 Skycatcher was a Light Sport Aircraft designed to fill the Sport Pilot training role, offering a modern glass cockpit and side-by-side seating in a high-wing configuration at lower cost than traditional Cessna trainers.

History
Announced in 2006 and first flying the same year, the Skycatcher was manufactured in China by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation to reduce costs. Despite initial strong orders the programme struggled with weight issues and production problems, and Cessna ended production in 2013 after building 902 aircraft.
Variants
Only a single production variant was built; the design underwent weight reduction modifications during production.
