WEFT is AircraftIQ's four-point recognition method — how it works.
Spot it by:
- Moderately swept wing on a mid-size jet
- Aft-fuselage-mounted PW306C turbofans
- Large squared cabin windows
Identify it by the swept wing, rear-mounted engines and large fuselage, mid-way in size between the smaller Citations and the sleek Citation X.

History
Cessna designed the Sovereign as a clean-sheet mid-size type built around a moderately swept wing and PW306C engines. It first flew in February 2002 and entered service in 2004, filling the gap between the Excel and the flagship Citation X.
Variants
The improved Sovereign+ later added winglets, more powerful engines and a Garmin G5000 cockpit for greater range and efficiency. Both share the same fuselage and cabin cross-section.
Where you'll see it
Sovereigns are operated by UK and European corporate and charter fleets for their long range and generous eight-to-nine-seat cabin, capable of linking most European city pairs nonstop.
