The Experimental One Design (EOD) is an American single-seat unlimited aerobatic monoplane designed by Randy Giles to be flown in a one-design competition class where all aircraft are identical, levelling the playing field to pure pilot skill. It has become a popular unlimited platform in the USA.

History
First flown in 1991 and developed through several revisions by Giles Aircraft, the EOD was conceived to create an equitable unlimited class where aircraft cost and engineering variations could not provide advantage. The One Design class now has a substantial following in the USA and some European representation.
Variants
All production aircraft are nominally identical; inspection protocols enforce this within the class. Minor variations in paint and avionics are the only permitted differences.
Where you'll see it
Flown at IAC contests in the USA as the basis of the One Design class category; occasional examples appear at European unlimited competitions as a novelty class entry.
