The Piper PA-34 Seneca is a six-seat low-wing piston twin developed from the single-engine Cherokee Six, widely used for touring and multi-engine training.

History
The prototype first flew in 1967 and production began in 1971. The turbocharged Seneca II of 1975 introduced counter-rotating engines that removed the critical-engine problem, and the line continued through to the modernised Seneca V until around 2019.
Variants
Five main marks ran from the carburetted Seneca I through the II, III and IV to the Seneca V (PA-34-220T). Airframe dimensions are shared from the II onward, with progressively more power and refined cabins.
Where you'll see it
The Seneca is a common sight in UK multi-engine training fleets, where its forgiving handling and counter-rotating props make it a standard step toward a twin or commercial rating, with some used for light charter and air-taxi work.
