History
Rans Aircraft of Hays, Kansas developed the S-6 series from the early 1980s, refining the design through several variants. The Coyote II designation indicates the two-seat side-by-side configuration. Fabric over a welded steel tube and aluminium tube frame construction is traditional and easily repaired in the field.
Variants
The S-6S is a single-seat version; the ES designation denotes an enclosed side-by-side cabin; various engine options from 65 hp to 100 hp Rotax units are used.
Where you'll see it
The S-6 Coyote II has a presence on the UK LAA register and is appreciated for its low build cost, straightforward inspection regime, and pleasant low-speed flying qualities.
