History

It was designed by Robert Bornhofen, who licensed the design to Excel Jet, and was meant to be supplied as a kit. The prototype first flew on 12 May 2006 and used a 2,200 lb thrust turbofan.

Variants

The standard recommended engine was the Pratt & Whitney Canada JT15D. A Williams FJ33 was used while it was under development by Excel Jet.

Where you'll see it

Only one was built. It was destroyed on take-off at Colorado Springs on 22 June 2006 after 23.8 hours of flying, and the project appears to have been cancelled.
