The SZD-51 Junior is a Polish single-seat fiberglass training glider designed for primary soaring instruction. It combines benign handling with adequate performance for a learner pilot.

History
Designed by PZL Bielsko (formerly SZD) in the late 1970s, the Junior first flew in 1980 and entered widespread use with Polish aero clubs. It replaced older wooden gliders in the training fleet and was exported to several Eastern Bloc and non-aligned countries.
Variants
Only one main production variant was built; minor equipment differences exist between early and later examples.
