Bombardier Global 6500
Bombardier · Canada · first flew 2018 · transport aircraft
The Global 6500 is a re-engined and cabin-refreshed successor to the Global 6000, powered by Rolls-Royce Pearl 15 engines and featuring Bombardier's Atmosphere cabin design.
Recognition (WEFT)
| W — Wings | Low-mounted, swept |
|---|---|
| E — Engines | 2 × turbofan, tail-mounted |
| F — Fuselage | Scimitar winglets and long, narrow fuselage with generous oval window count typical of the Global family |
| T — Tail | T-tail |
WEFT is AircraftIQ's four-point recognition method — how it works.
Spot it by:
- Visually near-identical to the Global 6000 but with new Rolls-Royce Pearl 15 nacelles — nacelle inlet lip is more sharply defined
- Atmosphere cabin branding visible in interior but exterior silhouette is shared with the Global 6000
- Scimitar winglets and long, narrow fuselage with generous oval window count typical of the Global family
Essentially indistinguishable from the Global 6000 in flight or on the ramp without close inspection of engine nacelles; the Pearl 15 nacelle inlet is fractionally more angular. Only registration records will confirm the type reliably.
Specifications

History
Announced in 2018 alongside the Global 5500, the Global 6500 entered service in 2019. The Pearl 15 engines deliver improved fuel burn and slightly extended range of 12,964 km versus the Global 6000. The Atmosphere cabin introduced new lighting, seat designs and larger overhead bins.
Variants
Offered as a single configuration; no distinct sub-variants exist although interior zones and configurations are fully bespoke.
Where you'll see it
Rapidly replacing the Global 6000 in the fleets of European and Middle Eastern operators; seen at Farnborough, Luton and Geneva alongside its predecessor.
