The Praetor 500 is Embraer's midsize bizjet, a development of the Legacy 450 with new winglets, upgraded engines and enhanced range for transatlantic routing.

Smaller than the Praetor 600 with a shorter fuselage and fewer cabin windows; against the Phenom 300 it is noticeably larger and heavier. The drooped winglets are the most distinctive visual feature against other midsize bizjets.

History

First flown in 2018 and certified in 2019, the Praetor 500 replaced the Legacy 450 on Embraer's price list. It introduced Honeywell HTF7500E engines with increased flat-rated thrust and drooped winglets developed in conjunction with Winglet Technology LLC to reduce drag. The type achieved steep-approach certification for London City Airport.

Variants

The Praetor 500 is the midsize variant; the Praetor 600 (below) is the larger super-midsize sibling sharing the same family identity.

Increasingly common at London City, Farnborough and Biggin Hill; its steep-approach certification makes it a popular charter option for London City access.
