History

Launched in 2013 as part of the E-Jet E2 programme, the E190-E2 paired a new high-aspect-ratio wing with geared Pratt & Whitney PW1900G engines. It first flew on 23 May 2016 and was certified in 2018, entering service with Wideroe.

Variants

The E2 family comprises the E175-E2, E190-E2 and stretched E195-E2. The E190-E2 sits in the middle, while the E195-E2 offers the most seats and the E175-E2 targets the regional market constrained by US scope clauses.

Where you'll see it

UK exposure comes mainly through European carriers operating E2 jets on routes into London and regional airports, and through the broader trend of regional operators such as Loganair flying Embraer types. The E2 competes with the Airbus A220 for short-haul efficiency.
