History
Produced by DINFIA (later FMA), the IA 46 was designed to provide Argentina with a domestically produced light aircraft for flying clubs and private operators. It was part of a broader effort to develop Argentine aeronautical industry capability during the Perón and post-Perón eras.
Variants
The IA 46 Ranquel was the primary production version; minor variants with different engine fits were also produced.
