The Robin DR.253 Regent is a four-seat French touring aircraft, an uprated version of the DR.250 Capitaine fitted with a 180 hp Lycoming O-360 engine for improved performance.

History

The DR.253 Regent continued the natural development of the DR.250, offering a more powerful engine option to satisfy demand for better climb and cruise performance. Robin's wooden construction philosophy kept weight low and costs manageable. The Regent found buyers among French private owners and was also exported.

Variants

Develops directly from the DR.250 Capitaine; the DR.300 series that followed adopted a somewhat different fuselage and construction approach.
