The SAI Ambrosini SAI.7T is the tandem two-seat trainer development of the SAI.7 sporting aircraft, retaining the clean low-wing monoplane airframe with modifications for dual instruction. It offered good performance relative to contemporary Italian trainers.

History
Following the SAI.7 racer, Ambrosini developed the 7T variant to meet Italian Air Force interest in a capable advanced trainer. The conversion to tandem seating required enlargement of the cockpit area but preserved the aerodynamic qualities of the original design.
Variants
The SAI.7T is itself a variant of the SAI.7, essentially the primary trainer-configured member of the family.
Where you'll see it
Operated in limited numbers by the Italian Air Force as an advanced trainer, the SAI.7T remained a relatively rare type overshadowed by more numerous training aircraft in service.
