History

The A330-800neo first flew in November 2018 and is derived from the earlier A330-200, incorporating the Trent 7000 engines, revised wing aerodynamics and new Airspace cabin. It was certificated in 2020 but attracted far fewer orders than the -900neo, as operators generally preferred the larger variant's economics.

Variants

No distinct sub-variants; the -800neo competes in a similar market to the Boeing 787-8 but with a wider cabin cross-section.

Where you'll see it

Operated in small numbers by carriers including Hawaiian Airlines and Uganda Airlines; the limited order book reflects the market's preference for the larger -900neo or the 787 family.
