History

First flying in November 1995, the GV entered service in 1997 and quickly became the reference ultra-long-range business jet. It was certified for RVSM operations and holds numerous city-pair speed records. Gulfstream delivered 193 GVs before transitioning production to the G550.

Variants

The GV was developed into the G550 (enhanced avionics, extended range) and the G500 designation was later applied to a different, smaller Gulfstream. The GV-SP designation covered some enhanced aircraft.

Where you'll see it

Operated by corporate flight departments, governments, and VIP charter operators worldwide. The US Air Force operates modified GVs as C-37A transports, and the type is found globally in government and executive fleets.
