History
Designed by Ed Swearingen and developed with Taiwanese backing, the type first flew in 1996 as a stretched, refined evolution of the earlier SJ30. Its protracted certification finally succeeded in the mid-2000s, though the manufacturer changed hands several times.
Variants
The SJ30-2 was the definitive production model, later marketed under the Emivest and then SyberJet names as ownership passed through successive companies. All share the same swept-wing, T-tailed configuration.
Where you'll see it
The type saw only limited production and modest civilian sales, with little UK-registered presence. Owner-operators valued its Mach 0.83 cruise and transatlantic-class range from a compact cabin.
