History
Bombardier adapted the 50-seat CRJ200, itself flown in the early 1990s, into a long-range executive jet that entered the business market in the late 1990s. It later evolved into the Challenger 850 branding.
Variants
Known variously as the Challenger 800 and later 850, the type retained the CRJ airframe while offering VIP, corporate-shuttle and head-of-state interiors.
