History
It first flew in 1994 as an evolution of the earlier 601, adding new avionics, uprated engines and greater fuel capacity for improved range. The 600-series pioneered the wide oval fuselage that defined the line.
Variants
Descended from the Challenger 600 and 601, the 604 was followed by the 605 and 650 with further systems and cabin updates. The family also spawned the CRJ regional jets.
Where you'll see it
The type serves corporate operators globally and has been used in special-mission roles; in the UK it appears in executive charter and some government transport tasks.
