History
It first flew in 1996 with an advanced high-speed swept wing and Rolls-Royce BR710 engines, entering service at the end of the decade. It established Bombardier in the top tier of the business-jet market.
Variants
The line grew into the Global 5000, XRS, 6000 and the larger Global 7500/8000, all sharing the ultra-long-range mission. The airframe also underpins special-mission platforms.

Global-family jets serve corporate, VIP and government fleets worldwide, and derivatives underpin surveillance aircraft; the UK operates such special-mission variants in the Sentinel and Airseeker lineage.
